Just saw a show on The Learning Channel this weekend about Super Cars. Very nice show, covered lots of info (from exotics to muscle cars) in short time.

One of the cars I remember most was the concept Silver Stallion, a 5.4 supercharged Mustang, that runs on alternative fuel! They said it could run on pure alcohol, or gas, or a combination of both, and still kick butt! Imagine factory muscle cars that run on pure alcohol, pump out 400 HP and not even worry about smog! Is it possible? Kind of makes me have more hope for the future with all the concern about the air.

the "super stallion" has been around for quit a while. I remember reading a few articles back in 97' on it. vverrrryy nice car! ya it ran on an alternative fuel (dont remember what the exactlt they named it from that long ago) but another car from dodge remake of the Charger ran on the same type of fuel. also made great horsepower!

Believe it or not-I still have the Jan'98 issue of Motor Trend with their "Exclusive Test".The Stallion uses a DOHC 5.4L(testbed for the Navigator I assume).It also has dual injectors and uses a Garrett 2.1-liter supercharger electrically controlled so it can be turned off.On 93 octane gas it makes 545-hp.It is also capable of running on what at the time was known as E85(85% ethyl alcohol and 15% gasoline).With this blend higher boost pressures were allowed and it made 590-hp.Torque was at 497-lbft. Performance wise it had a 6-speed tranny and 4.10 gears which ran 12.7 sec 1/4 mile times, and 4.3 sec 0-60.Using 13 inch front/12 inch rear rotors and Brembo brakes it stopped from 60 in only 116 feet.
Awesome car guys, but definately a pricey one.Price was undisclosed due to all the one-off parts(micro-processors in the seat bolsters,independant rear suspension with sideways coil-over shocks,carbon fiber hood,dual 3" exhaust).But I imagine alot of unseen parts and tricks have trickled down to production cars in the past year.

The Cobra R isn't using a supercharger. From what I understand, the class of racing that the Cobra R is made for doesn't allow supercharging.
