Cool Missed the Austin Rally/Thanks A&M folks

Nathan, Mudder, Wyldman, Pony Davensa and whomever I missed:
Sorry I was a no show in Austin. The award ceremony for my Dad got very complicated and I was not able to break away, maybe another time.
On the other hand, thanks to the folks at A&M and College Station in general.
Texas Ave. was a gas! We stayed at the Ramada Inn (Don't recommend it). and had a room on the 5th floor overlooking the Avenue.
It was like watching one long, long cruise night with hundreds or trick cars and pickups cruising back and forth (it was a football weekend A&M 34 Kansas 14 Yay).
Almost made up for missing Austin.

Thanks again for a great time Texas!!

Hey, I'm a Freshman here at Blinn in Bryan. The College Station/Bryan area is one giant car/truck show. Just at Blinn there are a 3 Hummers, 5 '99 Vettes, about 200 lifted trucks (Durangos, Expeditions, Yukons, '99 Z71's, and a few really nice F-150's), and just today I saw a Viper. I've been franticaly looking for a job to get money to perform some more modifications on my truck so it doesn't get lost in the crowd . . .

Evening Jason:
I don't know if you can do short order cooking, nor if it pays well, but the Ramada needs help. The cook and server failed to show up both Sat. and Sun. and left a lot of unhappy people. We had to make our own coffee! That's not a lot of fun on a football weekend morning/s.
Yeah, the CS Bryan area is wild when it comes to show and tell! Interesting to me also were the number of Suburbans/Tahoes/Expeditions and the like that had also been really tricked out and were driven by folks like myself in their late 50's early 60's and a lot were also driven by matronly (ouch!) women. Good old Texas Cadillacs!.
Matter of interest, do you have the same experience on the Interstate in being able to do 85 plus/minus without being hassled by the Troopers? It may have been the graphics on my Lightning (and that it was a Lightning), but I was passed by 4-5 Troopers at that speed and not a bit of problem and got high fives from two of them.
I also noticed that you Texas folk like your exhaust systems LOUD!!!!. Over here in GA., that is mostly found on the older sort of red-neck 60's and 70's cars and trucks. In Texas, it seems everyone is into retro sound from the 50's and 60's. Reminded me of my high school days in Fallbrook Ca. (Class of '57) when if you weren't loud, you weren't cool. Got to run. Good luck in school and job hunting for your mistress.
Bill

Sorry it has taken me a while to respond, I had to do a search to find this topic again. Anyway, I'm not sure about those State Troopers. The only time I ever see them is after they have already pulled over someone else. Luckily my radar detector seems to work really good. If I can get behind someone else doing the same, I will usually drive 80-90 on I-10. However, one of my friends did get a ticket for doing 76 in a 70 in Navasota. I don't recall him saying if it was a State Trooper or not, but I imagine it was a local cop. As far as loud exhaust, it is pretty much the norm. I have a 2 Chamber Flowmaster on my little V6, but it is still pretty loud. On some of the larger trucks (350's, 454's) you can hear them from probably a mile away. Anyway, enjoy that Lightining, hopefully I'll be able to find a good job and get me one some day!!! Best wishes . . .
