Post PSP Filter Kit - WOW!!!!

Hey Sal, Joel here.

I just wanted to say how pleased I am with the filter kit you designed and manufactured for our beloved 99 Lightnings.

1. The quality is absolutely first rate. I'm an aerospace engineer by trade and I’m very picky when it comes to the details. Your filter kit exceeded all my expectations.
2. It fits perfectly, and its very ‘tough’ looking.
3. The installation instructions were easy to follow..... had it in within a half hour, taking my time.
4. It SOUNDS GREAT!!! I can’t wait to be next to someone long enough to scare them with that blower scream.
5. No time for real performance numbers yet..... I plan on getting some the week after next.
6. Great buy at twice the money.

Thanks Joel!! I love to hear from happy customers. I especially like how everyone loves the filter kit. The entire thing is made by hand. I make each one by hand, then each one gets final fitting on my 99 to make sure each one fits perfectly. After that, it's time for the powdercoating. What did you think of the Outerwears pre-filter? I had never seen one before I got them for the kits. I was really impressed with it, and I run one on my truck. Thanks again!!

Just wanted to say I am very satisfied with the PSP filter as well. Even for someone who has never installed anything under the hood before it was pretty simple, the directions were clear, and it looks real good!

Now can anyone tell me more about the Outerwears pre-filter? Does it go over the cone filter or something? How does it affect performance? Are you selling them Sal?

FINALLY!

Someone else crowing about Sal's filter kit. I installed the Outerwears prefilter on mine the week after I installed Sal's kit. At the time he hadn't picked up the line, so I got mine from the company that makes 'em.

I understand Sal now has a kit available w/the prefilter included and recommend it highly. Aside from the added protection for the intake, it really looks cool when the fabric is sucked into the filter when you rap the motor a bit.

I finally made Nathan a believer by whipping his tail (sans N2O) and then asked Sal not to sell him the part. I still haven't heard from Nathan on that one (rofl).

Sal's kit is as much a must-have as a really good radar detector. I could live w/o the N2O, I could maybe even do w/o the SuperChip (gasp!), but the filter kit should not be an option.

Just wanted to add to all the praise. If only there was another modification that made as much difference as Sal's filter kit, there would be no reason we could not waste a C5.

This kit is unbelieveable! I also have the Superchip but have been running it in position #1 (stock) for 6-8 weeks now because of detonation problem in position #2. I believe I like position #1 better anyway because I don't have to worry about detonation and the truck shifts like I want. Pos. #1 is supposed to be stock but it seems like the truck runs better every day...maybe it is learning my driving habits....WOT as much as possible, LOL.

I had a chance to open her up on the freeway this weekend on the way to Tuscaloosa for Tenn/Bama and we reached an indicated 135 mph with no problems. I am surprised how quickly this truck accelerates at higher speeds...that blower really makes it pull hard even above 100 mph. On the way home, we got to playing with a Dakota R/T short cab. I had cruise set around 85 mph and we passed him like normal...well he didn't like that because a few minutes later he came by around 95...well can't let Dodge think they have the upper hand, so gave her a little punch to pull up along side him and he floored it. Well needless to say, all I needed was about 1/2 throttle to stay even with him and could pull away at will, like I said it pulls above 100 like it pulls from 50-100.

Anyway, sorry for the book, thanks again Sal! If you have any more ideas that make as much difference as the filter kit please forward them.

Take Care,

Collin

I totally agree with you and I think the filter helps out in that area too. The day after I installed the filter I went all the way to 140 racing a very fast Mercedes (AMG) on the freeway, but where I really passed him was after 120 mph. It must have surprised the hell out of this guy, his $80,000 or more Benz beat by a $30,000 truck. He was driving very confidently and he kept up with me most of the way, but just didn't have the same acceleration at higher speeds, although I'm sure eventually he would have passed me since he could probably go up to 180mph or so.

Mike (Brimstone), Could you please send me your e-mail, I'd like to communicate with you about your JBA headers. Installation, quality, etc.
