Post harley f-150

Went to the car expo 2000 at Anaheim Convention Center this weekend and, unfortunately Ford didn't have and SVTs at all, they had rep's there that didn't even recognize the name "Lightning," while others could do nothing but give me the 1-800 number to call when I asked about the 2000s. That's too bad, because Chevy had their Extreme there and people were all over it.

Saleen had their own spot, with some jaw dropping mustangs of course, and even a sporty looking Expedition.

I saw the Pontiac Grand Prix GTS, looked under the hood, it's really a nice piece of work that I wouldn't mind owning.

BMW had the new 400 HP M5 which featured I believe several independent throttles? Maybe I read the info wrong, is this possible?

Anyways the most interesting truck I saw from Ford there was the Harley F-150. It wasn't sporty looking, but it looked pretty mean. Huge dual exhaust tips, and it looked like the exhaust itself was dual 3" all the way. The rep told me it sounds just like a Harley too, although the engine is the regular 5.4. Huge 20" chrome wheels. But honestly I think the Lightning goes better with a Harley than the Harley F-150.

Hey, did your dealer have anything to say about putting that flowmaster muffler on?
I've been considering, but absolutely can't void the warranty.

Replacing the muffler will only void the warranty on the muffler and tail pipes, as long as it's a Cat back system.

Replacing the full exhaust will only void the emissions warranty and possibly any part that connects to the exhaust, like the heads, sensors etc.

Hey Brimstone,
I am really interested in the bed cover that was on it. Did it look as good in person as it did in the magazine? I read in truckin that i will be avaible for F150 owners to buy but when i stopped by the dealership they had no idea what i was talking about (go figure, even tried the parts dept same answer). If u have any info on this please contact me - dongen@futureone.com

Yoda:

Sorry, but I don't have any advice. I am also looking into the same thing. If there is any way you could e-mail me any new info, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Woops . . . I never asked if changing the headers/exhaust would void warranty, but I hope not, I'm not gonna change back to stock now though. It does make sense that at worst it would only void the specific warranty that applies.

As far as the bed cover on the Harley . . . Damn I didn't get to see it! They had it on one of those elevated displays and you weren't allowed to climb up on it to look closer. I know this cuz I tried and two guys came running up to me like I was gonna plant a bomb or something.

To tell you the truth the entire Ford display looked messy, and all the trucks were in the back almost against the wall, poor lighting too. There's no way anyone could've seen that bed cover, I was at eye level with the tires.

It looked like the only thing they really wanted to show off was the new Focus and that new Expedition (Explorer?) with the little truck bed in the back.

Sorry I can't help you,
Mike
