Not meaning to start another flame, but...
Can you believe this crap? "after MONTHS of testing"?? LMFAO! So, what? After a YEAR of testing, the thing is totally proportional to a 1989 Corolla?? What a waste! Have these guys ever seen what a LIGHTLY modded Lightning can do th these s**tballs??

All I can find around my area are the Superchicken's and Daytona's, they aren't much of a challenge. I would love to spank a few SRT-10's but they are few and far between!
The one's to look out for our the Cheby 4WD sleeper's, look like a stock truck but have a bunch of goodies under the hood!!

"348hp to the wheels"
What a joke, its supposedly rated at 500 at the flywheel. Thats a 30% loss of HP to the wheels.
Not only that but according to them WE are the ones that can't tow. Riiiiiight.....

You should respect it because it's another sport truck. I'm not saying fear it or give the driver a hand job, I'm just saying respect it. It's another big heavy truck that goes fast. Sure it's good to have a little beef going with them because it's another fast truck, but lets not be ****s. I get sick of reading post from dumbasses over there and I get sick of reading post from dumbasses over here. Everybody just be easy and remember they are just cars.
When did the SRT-10 get a 7500lb towing capacity? Are they referring to the quad cab? I definintely like and respect the SRT-10, but the obvious winner in bang for the buck is the Lightning - even if the engine is halfway under the cowl.

You're right about one thing, though. The SRT-10s are "just cars," with their load limit of 800 lbs. and a "no towing" warning from the manufacturer. Definitely a lot more like a unibody FWD car than a truck, for sure.

Why yes, you should!
Is it the Tundra that you're talking about?

As I said in the original post, I was not trying to start another flame - I was merely pointing out some of the disillusioning of the public from "research", and I found it quite amusing that they chose the Lightning to make a comparison with. Perhaps me calling the SRT-10 a s**tball was a little...strong... for some, but referring to people as dumbasses and ****s because of their opinion is a little bit out there, don't you think?

7500 pound towing capacity?
The Ford offers negligible payload and towing capacity (they said it)?
The SRT shifter is like shifting through wet concrete.
14.73 in hot weather and higher altitude, even with the half second subtracted off that time like they said, the L is better at the qtauter mile.
SRT has us on top speed.

No need to rip on the SRT, RIP ON THE AUTHOR!!!
Lots of bad or misleading info here. As pointed out, only the quad cab SRT has any tow rating. An '04 Lightning has a 1300 pound payload and 5000 pounds towing, this is hardly "neglible" (idiot can't even spell).
The curb weight of the SRT is not 5000 particularly the QC, and how is a 55/45 weight split "reasonable". What is unreasonable?
The rear half of the L is not buried under the cowl. Part of it is, but it's not impossible to work on. The hardest thing about most pickups is just getting your upper body into position over the engine. The SRT isn't any easier in this area.
The SRT will not light the tires on a 3-2 downshift at 50 mph unless you either a) are on a greasy surface or b) rev the crap out of the engine and pop the clutch and even then it'll do little more than chirp. 300 yards??? BS
.93 G's at "nearly" triple digit speeds? This is meaningless without knowing what corner they were on.
348 rwhp, 0 - 60 in 6.2 sec, 1/4 in 14.73 at 95.4? Was this a quad cab? Wait, no shifter in a QC. Pathetic numbers for a reg. cab.
And finally, he compares the world record speed of the SRT to their test speed of a Lightning... A$$HAT!
