Post 180 thermostat

has any one tryed changing to a 180 thermostat to maybe lower under hood temperture?if so, will it affect the computer .ive heard it may make the motor run richer.could be a cheap improvement.

The computer will adjust it self . But it is an OBDII system . May cause the check engine light to come on . May set a code for not eaching proper temp on drive cycle. OBDII has drive cycles at it test it's systems for problems . I work on cars for a living and have seen ford,gm,toyota,honda, and nissans . Set code do to bad tstat. Let us no if does cause light to come on .Maybe 180f tstat is close enough that want be a problem.
