The JDM Aluminum Block program is up and running

This weekend Jim had a 2-valve version of the aluminum block in the White Lightning for the FFW Epping event (Which I won .LOL. But thats another story).

The truck has 3.58 gears in it and the same block Jim will use for the 4 -valve.(Btw- Sean Hyland was there an I think I saw drool coming out of his mouth when he was looking at the block.LOL)

Well Jim qualified #1 with a 10.8s and ran in the 10s all day even going to the Semis.

Here is were it gets interesting. Normally the L would have gone on the trailer for the 7 hour ride home since it is still in the testing stages and has a whole 10 miles on it but another JDM customer had problems and needed a tow to JDMs. Without blinking an eye (and I do mean that. There was no walking around and trying to figure out how to get Mike home. It was literally 2 seconds after finding out there was a problem) Jim said put it in the trailer and I (Jim) will drive the white truck home , he even had to use the customer whells and tires).

Thats right the white truck that is full of race fuel , only has a 10 gallon tank and a new motor. Pretty confident of his equipment if you ask me and of course made me smile as one of them blocks will be mine someday soon.

Well I can give first hand knowledge that the truck ran flawlessly and Jim was able to get some good long distance datalogging on it.

My confidense level and excitement are at a all time high about this block and it should be getting very interesting soon.

I do not make a lot of posts like this but I did feel that Jim did a great thing for his customer and in the process showed me that Jim is not afraid to put his equipment through its paces.

Thats awsome! When I heard he had trouble, I was more worried about how him and his truck were going to get home, rather than what it would take to fix his truck. Outstanding job on Jims part, and outstanding job of MLNIUM (Can we still call it that?) of making it home in race trim!!!

To this day we still call it Bill's truck or MLNIUM. It might be back up in New England soon, a guy named Jeff who actually owned the truck at one point too came up to watch the race, saw the truck and all the new things about it and had to have it again. We are really happy with the Aluminum Motor and the performance. These blocks and the machine work are kind of expensive but thats racing. However if we can drum up enough publicity about them they can sure be a heck of alot cheaper.

Save 75-80 lbs, price is in the works, it is an expensive block compared to stock and there is required machine work that is cost involved too. However we can get the blocks cheaper and same for machine work if there is an interest in these things. We'll have some info up within this week.

Haha

I saw them changing the wheels from the stands waiting for the TT final round and was trying to figure out what the hell they were doing. Anyone catch one of Jim's slicks take off rolling by itself across the grass and almost made a deposit into the swamp. I would have yelled by there wasn't anyway anyone was hearing me.

Glad everyone made it home safe!!!

How did you handle the oil squirters? Did you just plug the holes or are you running them? What oil pump are you using?

This is all stuff that my Dad knows, I know how we are running both of those in our truck but it may change for a production. He is back on Wed this week from illinois. Ill go over it with him over the phone tommorow or have him post when he is back.

This is not like the 6.0 SHM block however they are both AL.

L-menace, I have already heard of a turbo, AL motor in the werks a buddy down in FLA is doing a 32v, AL, Turbo setup as we speak.

Sweet..........

There just might be a couple of those AL 4-valve motors roaming the streets in joisey

But first things first, a day with a couple white Lightning's and a certain silver one at the track

That is great customer service right there... Jim is still the man..
And you couldn't have picked a better truck to test the Aluminum motor in..
It was great seeing and hanging out with you all again, we will have to do it again soon..
JimIII,
Ask your dad how much to custom install a Ford 9" IRS into my Cadi so she will be able to handle about 600 to the wheels...
Thanks, and if he can do it, and put a kit together I just happen to know where he will be able to move about 20 kits or more...

Bill
