I just spent $1K on four new Eagles/mount& balance/alignment. Price may be something you should consider. This is my fourth set of tires and I only have 55k on the truck. Oh yeah, do a search. See ya.

After going through a set of F1s, I decided to go with Nitto - havent regretted a day (or a dollar) of it yet....

Nittos all the way

I prefer the Nittos
they just hook better than the F1s
but if you want the best bang for your $$$
I think the Hancooks are the one you want to go with

I just got the Hankooks myself, last week actually. Total price for 4 was about $580 including shipping. So far I really like them. My original goodyears did not last for ****, and I just could'nt see myself spending $1000 on tires.

Very many would disagree with this, traction bars play a very large role.

555s here all the way around. Great tire! Great wet traction, smooth ride, no noise and I pulled a slew of low 1.8 60ft with a best of 1.81 on the 555.
Beleive it or not I tried a set of 555r's on the back and SUCKED! No traction at all.

traction bars actually do not "induce" traction........they only keep youre axle from twisting, if that in turn helps traction then so be it. But you cant make 600rwhp put a set of long bars on and slam it from a start and expect not to spin.

If you are making 600 rwhp you could have tires made out of Unobtanium and they would spin ...

Its about throttle control

The cheaper tires that last longer typically have worse traction - especially in the rain. While you are doing a search for tires serach on people that have wrecked their trucks in the rain and see which tires they have been running - I think you will see a large percentage of tires other than Goodyears -

Wet traction has just as much to do with tread design as tire compound. A tire like the Hankook is superior to the F1 in wet traction in my experience. I haven't hydroplaned once with the Hankooks and they don't break loose as easily under acceleration in the wet. I sure can't say the same for the 3 sets of Goodferayears I've gone through.
