Denso IT20

Think I burned a plug last night, racing a Mustang on the highway. Currently I'm running NGK TR6's. But, have a used set of Denso IT20's. Should I give the Densos a try, or just get a new set of TR6's? I'm seeing 14-15lbs of boost at WOT.

I wish I could help you, but I'm clueless when it comes to plugs. What are the symptoms of a burnt plug?

Update

I found the problem. Started to pull and clean the IAC, and saw oil on the fuel rail. Traced it down, and the cap I had installed on the rear pcv line had blown off. Installed a new cap, with a clamp this time, and the truck purrs like a kitten.

Great news

But for the record with that Boost the 20's would be too hot a plug, 22's would be a better choice.

Thanks Rob. Eventually I will break down and get the Densos. The NGK's idle a little rougher than I like.

Yes agreed BIG TIME
I tried TR-6's and hated the idle,
Tried BR 7's and REALLY hated the idle and low end misses
Went back to Denso IT-22's and MAN WHAT A DIFF
I'm actually putting IT-24's in this week, I need something a bit colder still...

Im not exactly sure what type PCV set up you are running but if your motor blew the cap off that you have installed don't you think the motor is trying to tell you something. Its building up pressure in the crank case son.

First off, I'm not your son. Secondly, I'm running the L&S oil seperator. The L&S seperator keeps the trucks PCV system fully functional. It just caps off the PCV hose that runs to the lower intake.

Hey, no problem. I've been working waaay to many hours, and a little on edge.

The cap that blew off was just a slip fit. I hope it was just a loosely fitting cap and the high boost just blew it off. I installed another cap with a clamp.

I understand, and that is what I was getting at. If the cap blew off that time it may again and its not good to run with it like that. You saw how bad it ran with it off. The clamp or a zip tie should help keep it on correctly.

All this stuff is new to some of us and we just want to learn to. If your ever in Mobile Al maybe we can race sometime.
