Oh no!
I need to vent my frustration. Today I took my Lightning to work and usually I park my truck in the locked parking lot behind the building, but later on in the day I move it to front so just in case someone trys to jump me in the dark when I close up. Well this time when I parked it front, I went bask inside for awhile, when I looked up outside and notice some punks next to the passenger side. I walked outside to investigate and in a split moment this jerked popped out a little knife and proceeded to scratch my truck. I screamed at him and he and his friend ran. He didn't finish his job but he did manage to leave a nice 1 inch scratch. Can anyone recommend what I should do, should I go to body shop or should I try a touch up guy. Does anyone know what the procedure is on doing it yourself (touch up). And lastly if anyone in Houston knows a someone who can do a good job at a reasonable price. Please give me a holler.
Buy a large caliber weapon with hollow point ammo. Being he did have a knife I'm sure you would have had to defend yourself
. Sorry about your Lightning, they are just envying what you have 'cause their little punkass trash will never get their hands on one, legally anyway.

Sorry about the truck. The only thing I would worry about with the gun is missing the punks and putting a large hole in the Lightning!
I suggest a body shop, just make sure they sand and feather the patch so it can be wet sanded smooth to the rest of the door. If it's done right no one will be able to tell.

Sorry man i know how it feels. I had a very nice 91 mustang that was tricked out (fiberglass hood etc) so i got a lot of looks from people... Well one day I pulled in to a cirK to get some napkins to clean the bird crap off my car. As i pulled in there were 2 younger kids getting into there chevy truck (u know the ones with the little calvin kid pissing on the ford logo) well i went into get a wet napkin (about 1 min) when i came out there was my beatiful stang with a gouge all the way around it. they must have taken a knife like they did 2 urs and really dug into it. Well i was (never mind) I found a great restoration place called "Hamiltons" here in Phx Az, the owner works primarly on old high performance vehicles & came highly recommended. Trust me spend a little extra time finding a good body shop becuz you will be happier when it is done right the first time.

Sorry to hear that GWERKS, but your not alone on that experience. I had my truck for mabey a month and found a 4" scratch over the wheel flare on the passenger side after going to just two places and leaving it for a total of mabey 30 minutes. I may have been better off in not having to see my Lightning be violated in front of my own eyes but still would have loved a crack at who did it too. I took mine to a shop who for years was just into fixing paint chips and scratches but now does full body work too. Once there I found out something I never knew, the outer bed on the flareside is fiberglass and the inner wall is metal and they said most other brands are the same. Well they had to shoot the entire bedside from tailgate edge to cab and remove the plastic bed cap. They said this was the only way to get a good color match and I have to say they were right cause I can't tell it was ever touched. I bet they may have to do the same with your door to get it to look the best. My cost was $300 but it was well worth it and looks as good as new. These guys have around for a long time and most of their clients come from word of mouth due to their excellent work. As far as your cost GWERKS, it shouldn't be that high for just a door and the good thing is they should be able to color match it easier since your paint has hardly had a chance to start to fade from sunlight. I know myself GWERKS for the first 2 weeks I was sure I could tell a color difference but today I know it was only in my mind in thinking this was not the same truck I got off the lot and got over it. I even put it to a test and put it in a car show with some trucks that had chrome and custom paint jobs. Guess what I got a trophy so get that truck painted and show those punks that you can't keep a good Lightning owner down!!!! Good luck GWERKS

Gwerks,
I am totally sorry hear this depressing news. If it had been me, I would have tried to run him down and failing that might have busted a cap on his sorry _ss.
If you call Tom Snader at Paint'n Place here in Sugar Land, he will take good care of you and won't charge an arm and a leg, especially if you mention my name.
He painted my T-bird, charged me $2k, and did a $3.5K job on it. No orange peel, no fish-eyes, just a beautiful paint job. I was so impressed that I let him fix the scrapes I had on the front of Lightning, as well. If I would let him touch my baby, then he is something special. He also painted and installed the Xenon ground effects kit that I bought for the bird.
Quality work, no B.S.

Hey Mike!
Are you saying that I am hard to please? Or just complete PITA?
Either way, thanks for the compliment, I think.....
