Mistakes Were Made!
Hi Guys,
Tonight I brought one of the guys I work with out on a test drive in my Lightning. During our break we went down a few side streets, and found a nice straight quiet street. Im currently in Springfield Mass, right now, and this is where the test drive occured. I began to power brake and the tires chirped, and spun for about 5-10 seconds. The back end began to turn sideways, and I let off the brake. When I did this an officer appeared right over the horizon. This took place at a slight incline, so I could not see him coming. He stopped, and turned on his lights. He was unable to come after me because he could not turn around on the street. The street was to small to make a 3-point turn. He tried to turn around, but I was already long gone. BIG MISTAKE, I did get away, but I won't be doing test drives like that again in this city.

It wasn't a residential street was it? Good!
Congratulations! I wasn't that lucky last night. It wouldn't have been so bad but it was just a 38 in a 25. I went from a 35mph street to a 25. Wouldn't you know it, that's were he was sitting. Sneaky sucker!

Whew!!!! Lucky for you...glad you got away!!!
I was at a bookstore and parked near the front doors waiting for my finacee to come out of the store as she just had to pick up a magazine. These two no-brainers come up to me, ask me to roll down the window and say....."Is that a Lightning?". I kind of give them a don't waste my time look and point to the fender. Obviously they didn't know very much about trucks. As my fiancee gets in the truck, the guy goes to me and says "Give us a little show!". I say "A little show? Go to a peeler bar if you want a show!" He says...."You know...spin the tires!" I say...."tell you what, you each give me 20$ and that will go towards the new tires I have to get every time someone asks me to give a little show, I will scrape together enough for new tires." They kind of looked at each other in a HUH? kind of way and I left. I wonder why some people are allowed to breed.....

Well, if you dont mind burning off some tires, here's a neat show. The other day I was on a similar street that's too narrow to turn around in without at least a 3-pt turn. I needed to get turned around so I just did a little brake-GASSSSSS-brake action from about 15mph and the lightning did a perfect 180 pivot around the front bumper. Looked way cool. Now where's the tire shop?
I gave my Dad and friend a little show a few saturdays ago. We were pulling out of a parking lot on to some slick pavement. No traffic A/C on and 3 near 200lb guys in the cab. I opened the throttle a little and hazed the tires. Once into the corner I went wide open and we went sideways on dry pavement. I let out of it before we went 90 degrees. They were a little surprised and amazed a the little V8.
Lots of fun in the rain as well. My coworker followed me into the parking lot last week after a rain. he hammered it and got a little sideways in his Mazda B4000 2WD w/ LS. I backed in and held the brakes, opened the throttle and did a major LS brake torque for about a minute. He was impressed and the other people in the building had their nose pressed against the windows. You got to love the LS.
