Where does this wire go! picture included

I did a motor install a while back and ended up with a wire leftover that I have no clue where it goes! I'm having an electrical problem(lights flicker) and figure this is probably my problem.

You sure it's from YOUR truck? It says Navistar on it, which is the powerstroke diesel company.

You know........ I had a F250 for while and remember taking a few wires off it doing a mod, and I think this is it! Damn; I feel like a dumbass now! The date code even matches the 2000 F250 I had.

Thanks Sal

Now I just gotta figure out what's wrong with my truck. I'm thinking it's an alternator issue specifically the voltage regulator. at idle I see very close to 14v mostly high 13's I rev it up and it doesn't change! Actually will go down a little and bounce around

Just curious, where are you measuring the voltage? @ the battery, or the alternator?

I usually see 13-14.4v at my stereo equipment with engine running (depending on load)... seems pretty normal.

At idle with no acc. 13.8to14.2 VDC should be fine.

Next you should turn your lights, radio,ac, and wipers on and see what your volts are.(while truck is running)

Then bump the throttle to about 1250 and read your volts.

Your volts should never go over 14.2VDC .

At least with the 540 amp duel alt. set ups I work with on fire trucks they never see over 14.2 volts.
