Pull sway bar for track or not?
Pull sway bar for track or not?
curious the going opinion these days, i pulled it on my old truck, and i definately could notice the truck dip a bit more going into bends, but i'm not into corner carving at all
with the size of the trucks though, is the consensus that you do get more lift and better hook with it off?, i never had any traction problems with the old truck, but it's been 3 years and wondering what everyones thoughts are these days

it is about 30 lbs pulled from the right place, so yeah it definitely helps at the track, especially if you don't have sticky tires. with sticty tires and not gobs of power you're just removing weight unless you have a suspension/weight transfer problem. i used to pull mine. it was good for a couple hundredths. too much of a pain now for me to pull and put back on since i tow a lot.
It is a proven fact that taking the sway bar off can only help at the dragstrip. I have raced with it off and really didn't notice a ton off difference, maybee it is due to the weight of our truck. Since it is a pain in the butt to remove, and reinstall, I don't bother to take mine off any more. Infact my best 2 60' times and also 1/4 mile times have been with the sway bar on the truck.
I have done 1.50 and 1.52 60 foot times with the sway bar on the truck.
