Note, BlueOval is reporting that the 2000 Lightnings will have the exhaust at the rear vs. the right side. Claim is that exhaust is detrimental to CHROME wheels. Ford is also toying with a yellow version.

If you recall, the '97 F-150 (i had one) was a side-exhaust model. They did switch to rear exhaust in 98 because of wheel staining and also because it somehow improved cold-weather performance. I think its kind of strange though that with that knowledge they'd do the '99s with side exhaust and then just switch to rear exhaust again. Also, the photos of the supposed 2000 lightning referenced at blueoval contain a passenger side view and a rear side view. http://www.blueovalnews.com/2000_lightning.htm
I notice that side exhaust is present in these photos. Also, i didnt think that yellow was a color that currently is available on F-150s. It seems odd that they would produce a small-production batch using a paint color they dont currently stock.
The power rear window I can believe though. I have a ford catalog that lists it as a dealer-installable option for any F-series. I've been thinking of getting one, but it hardly seems worth the money.

Hey guys, Sal here. I haven't heard anything about the exhaust change for 2000, so I doubt that will happen. All the other stuff is true, except for the yellow thing. Ford does have a yellow 2000, but it didn't make the cut for production. What SVT does,is every year they survey the current SVT dealers about the previous years vehilces. This year's survey asked dealers for a fourth Lightning color. Yellow came in a close second, but Silver got the most votes.
