start with a tool box full of tools and just start pulling **** off
btw do you remember the pipe cap i was asking you about?
that is what i wanted to cap off, the fitting on the headers that the erg tube goes too
and you need to turn off that little box that the vac lines are connected to in your tune
and if you SEARCH i think you will find the block off plate for the upper intake
other than that its a peice of cake, pretty much just pulling it off

I originally made a plate for the upper plenum and now it's replaced with a shiny JLP blank off plate on my sheetmetal plenum. As for the bottom one I just cut the EGR tube, slid the fitting off, stuck a quarter inside it and threw it back on my header bung. It works like a champ. If you have anymore questions just ask Rob.

Just have your tuner turn it off, no need to disconect everything.

Mine is disabled, but all the crap is still there

One of the best write-ups and explanations about the EGR system was done by Chris of "Superfords" a couple of years ago - photos and all - as I recall he was a Ford Tech.

Rob are you wanting to remove the EGR system because of your plug issue? Removing the EGR may make your plug issue worse since the exhaust gas that recirculates can have a major impact on your combustion. If you remove the EGR, you could see higher engine temps since the exhaust gas won't be present in the cylinders anymore.

You could get some pinging because the EGR lowers combustion temps at slight acceleration and while cruising. The cylinders are going to burn hotter now and IMHO this can't be better for the plugs. The EGR isn't used while idling or during WOT so there really is no increase in performance that I can see.

Maybe I'm all wrong here. I'm just trying to understand how the EGR delete is good for the engine?

Ya

Maybe I just needed a day to calm down, (and a hit on Tims Bong)

Yes my thought was 100% related to the weekly plug changes, AND IT SHOULDNT BE. Sal always said it can make the issue worse too, and he surly knows better than me.
