I had an issue w the Madd Enterprises coil pack bolts

I should just say, nough said......

But let me ask you this,
since I (or we) now know (I found out the HARD WAY) &(@$^%@($
that the bolts are TWO piece,
and (as I found out today) @(&%@$^%(@$^%@($^%@($
you go to remove one on a Plug change, and only the top half comes off
HOW THE F&@! are you going to get in there and remove the bottom half ???

TG I was lucky and it only happen on the last one on the drivers side
You may think this is an easy task, IT IS NOT (@&^$%(@^$%($
But TG it's about the only one you can actually sneak in there with a tiny winy vise grip and spend 15 minutes removing it. *@%($%(#$
Locking it, moving it a frigging mili something, and then doing it again and again and again and you get the picture X 15 minutes.

If this was to come off on #2 Drivers Side, you would prob have to dam near take EVERYTHING off to Motor to be able to get in there (&#$^@^$%@(^$%
I used lock tite on this one, and will CHECK each one for now on in as they come. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DO TOO

BTW
I love these frigging things, AND WOO HOO I get to use them like 6 times a month now @)*&$%@()*$&%)@(&*$%)@$%&@$(&%@)$@)$%&@)$&%@$()&@$ ) @($%@($%@($%@($%@($%@($

EDIT

GOT TO LOVE CUSTOMER SERVICE LIKE THIS
AND GOOD NEWS FOR ALL I MAY AD.....

Rob_02 and all,

My sincerest apologies for the problems. While I am not looking to excuse delivery of a substandard product, let me tell you why this happened.

After the first couple of batches of these screws, I redesigned them to be a little longer. When the CNC shop made this particular batch, they called and said that they had used the incorrect (old) print and had made them short. They said they would make extensions and assemble them at no charge. I agreed.

What I have learned when this happened to a previous customer is that they apparently did not wash the parts before assembly. The Loctite used was spec'd by me but the coolant residue in the threads prevented proper curing or adhesion of the Loctite and a couple of them have come apart. I disassembled, washed and reassembled some and after letting them sit overnight, the Loctite held to the point that I twisted the stud off. That batch is all gone so I expect to hear from a few more customers yet.

If you will call me I will replace them with the latest units that have a one piece body, at no charge and reimburse you to return those to me.

Again, please accept my apologies for this screwup.

MAD

Loc-tite (red I think, maybe blue) 3 piece would be the only way to make that and keep tem cost effective. Think they are expensive now? If they were one piece you could tripple that, easy.

Accually they are 5 piece. Unless they turned hex stock and knurled it then they are 3 piece.

Oh my God!!

I just bought them from Madenterprise, but havn't installed them yet. So what should I do to be safe that the bolts don't split up? Use red loctite on the parts? Is that enough?

Why are they 2 or 3 piece anyway?? This sucks.

There are several choices, 1. Red Locktight as said all ready.
2. Hi Temp Epoxy.
3. Drill a small hole and put in small roll pin.
Any of the above methods will work however 2 & 3 would be my choice. As Red Locktight, if not done with the cleaning solvent. Will come apart. Just a couple of options. Artie

I agree with the red locktite suggestion. Once dry, these things are not going to come apart with that stuff because they are not tightened down onto the coil packs that tightly. I snugged mine.

Someone needs to look throug McMaster Carr a little longer and maybe use reverse thread on the bottom part so when your lossing the top it's tightening that joint. I'm stil working on an "alternative" to the 80 dollar Mad-E kit.
