Yahoo Car Chat & Lightning
Hello all,
I spoke with a young kid on Yahoo car chat. This person first asked me if there was an aftermarket pulley for the supercharger, and I told him I did'nt think so. He then told me he was going to sell his Lightning because his friends 5.3 GMC with a Whipple supercharger was fasteter and ran 11.5 in the 1/4 mile. I told him that it would'nt be smart to sell his Lightning just because someone else ran better times with a different truck. He said he is gonna sell it and buy a GMC and do the same mods his friend did. I asked him what his contact info was and how many miles on the vehicle. 32,000 miles are on the Black Lightning and he wants $27,000 dollars. I asked when he bought the truck he told me "may". I found it hard to believe someone could put 32,000 miles on a Lightning in only 3-4 months. I then asked him what mods his friend had done to the GMC he told me only a supercharger was added and thats all, and he knows thats all he did because he helped him do it *lol*. I FIND THIS HARD TO BELIEVE. Anyway I thought I would tell you all about this little chat.

did he specify that he had a new lightning? that many miles does sound like alot, normally when people get these trucks they use them for weekend hot rods. My dad's friend has the earlier Lightning, has owned it since brand new and it has less than 20K on it. He also has recently purchased a 99 lightning.

an 11.5 in a 2.5ton truck, with your only mod being a supercharger (any supercharger) is "impossible", your speed limiter is going to kick in at 100 or so, you would need the traction of a funny car to get you from 0-100 in 3sec, so you can coast the rest of the way 
, i'd imagine a 11.5 in that truck would be over 120mph. did this braggert finish his post with: "yea, that's the ticket" (john lovettes, sat night live habitual liar characature)

A whipple supercharger will increase hp by 50% so a 260hp F150 would now have 390hp.I can't believe a 5.3 chevy could run 11.5 seconds with only a supercharger mod.I bought my lightning in June put 1000 miles on it in the first week and up until I traded it in last week I had only put another 1300 miles on it.I miss my lightning but my F250 supercab 4x4 is more practical for me up in Boston,if they would come out with a 4 wheel drive lightning or hyped up Bronco that I read about I will buy another one.
