Just something I heard from a friend..Is it true?
Just something I heard from a friend..Is it true?
Johnny Lightning does the tuning on my friends 01 Lightning and he gave me an idea.. Well I was thinking instead of buying a new ride next year buy a monster Lightning.. I just bought my first home and figured next would be a new ride since the L is payed off. My plans were (next year) to repaint my L , update the suspension/new wheels and little ends an odd things. Well right now my L is a daily driver back and forth to work so a beater is in the near future with the crazy gas prices.. I really want to buy something in the area of a GTO or Charger SRT-8 when it comes out but not feeling the car note thing again.. Also if I did buy a new car I would be crowding my driveway/garage with the L, my wife's car, my 89 coupe 5.0, beater and NEW CAR..
Well considering I refuse to let my L go or my mustang my wife wouldn't stand an extra car especially w/ the new house. My friend told me Johnny Lightning has a stage 1 build, stage 2 and stage 3.. I can't remember what each stage consist of but i believe he said the last comes with Heat exchanger, rebuilt block w/ forged rods etc., cams, tune, kenne Belle and a few more... I'm not quoting Johnny Lightning but just what my friend told me, which can all be done for $13,000 give or take..That sounded a little too good to be true to me and just wanted to see if anyone else can testify? My truck is a 99 model with over 100K miles.. For it to have a fresh motor with tons of power would be very nice.. Taking out a $13,000 loan sounds a lot better than buying a $30,000 plus car and adding on insurance etc.. Does my buddy know what he's talking about or not guys?? If so next year I'll be sending the L to Pa. to get a transplant.. Do you think this would be a better idea.. He claims that with this setup truck sould put down at least 600RWHP and should run in the mid to low 11's... He got this info from JL personally but just wanted to find this out from the source.. Also it's suppose to have great drivablilty for a daily driver..
P.S. I'll give Johnny a call tommorrow to ask also..
Thanks guys
