Question Trying to determine custom wheel offset...

Hello everyone!

I want to get a set of Boyd Osiris wheels for the L. As most of you know, they are custom made. What I want to do is a "staggered" package (20x8.5 front, and 20x10 rear). I have had a bad experience with the wrong offset on aftermarket wheels before. These are not cheap and I really want to get it right the first time!

So, here is the question... Has anyone figured out the proper backspacing for these sizes? I am not too concerned with the front. But the back needs to be perfect. I am going to lower the truck pretty aggressively. But, I would like to have them tuck as close to the inner-fender as possible. Please help me not make a mistake! With your help, I think this combo is going to look SICK on our truck! Thanks in advance!

Looking on with interest ... I think the GT wheel setup is awesome ...

Just need to find out the lug spacing for these someday...

In case you do not get any responses soon...

Give me a couple of days...I'm flying out to Cincinatti on buisness in about 3 hours then 2 Miami from there... I'll check the offset of my Boyd Timeless II's when I get back to Tampa at my buddy's wheel shop later this week. He has the equipment there to properly measure the offset since he has his own line of wheels he mfgs specializing in staggered fittments for BMW & Mercedes...

We'll pull off mine and take the measurements...

Stock L wheels have 5.8" of backspacing.
If you want to run the face of your new rims in the same place as the stock ones run 4.8" on the 20x8.5" fronts and 6.3" on the 20x10" in the rear. I personally think the stock rims stick out a little too far for my taste. I would pull them in another 3/8-1/2" if your going to lower your truck a lot.
I have about a 2 3/4" drop on the front with 20x8.5's and a 5" drop in the rear with 22x10's. I have 5 1/4" of backspacing on the 20x8.5's and 6 1/2" of backspacing on the 22x10's. The most you should run in the rear on a lowered truck is about 6 3/4" before you have to worry about hitting the inner well.

Hope this helps
Jason

Thanks guys! You have been a great help!

All the guys on the other boards are echoing what you are saying, Jason. I think that about 6.25" - 6.30" of backspace on the back is the way to go. I am going to have about 5" of drip in the rear too. Your truck looks SICK!

Do it right.. go out and measure! - http://www.billetspecialties.com/ite...pid=596&rdir=1 (Wheel Measuring Guide @ www.billetspecialties.com)

I know your buying BOYD's, but if you have this info for the tech's, it will help make life easier.

BTW - past experience dealing with Billet Specialties has been a pleasure!
