i so got it on today

well i finally managed to get my JLP 4lb lower on today. had to pull my fan and shroud and throw a 5 foot cheater over my breaker bar from up top, and when it finally broke i about crapped my pants. the sound it made wasnt pleasing. so i threw the RWTD custom e-mail tune in and took her out for a spin. the SC is louder and my boost goes 5/8" or so into the black now. i have to say though, it didnt seem to add a whole lot of go. isnt a 4lb pulley supposed to add like 40-50 hp/tq? i also have a 90mm MAF but its on the stock 00" cut airbox. so im not sure how much good its doing. any ideas?

I was under the impression that pullies did not net any HP or torque gains but just got you into max boost quicker.

A 4lb pulley alone will increase hp 15+ and torque 40+,
as well as get you into boost quicker

When I started modding, I felt like it wasn't making a big difference. Then when a friend of mine rode with me (he also rode in it when it was stock) and he said it was like night and day. Just make sure you have 16 degrees timing WOT in your tune and you aren't lean. That wil put you in the ballpark.

it's just that in a 5,000 lb truck it doesn't make all that noticeable of a "seat of the pants" difference. some say they REALLY feel it, some don't notice much b/c really it is a marginal difference. but where it will shine (if it's all running right) is when your racing someone, at the track or otherwise. if you did some before and after testing at the track you'd see the difference. i've got 100+ passes on my truck this year in the 1/8th. tonight was chevy vs the world (i was one of the last two fords)... anyway, i always run my 4lb pulley and race tune and in the summer heat and humidity, i run 8.35s-8.45s. tonight i dropped back to my 2lb pulley and street tune and was running 8.79s -8.84s. the weather was bad but i would have at least been in the low 8.50s without a doubt....big big difference. i'll throw on the 4lber and race tune tomorrow and it will be back in the 8.3s i'm sure.

i take that back i guess. i let my buddie drive it back from the parts store this morning. i think i heard the words "visceral beast" a couple times. i told him it was an animal before. but he said it was a very noticeable difference. since hes driven it several times ill take his word for it. i think it was because i kinda had a middle phase. i threw it in with just the factory predator 90mm, pulley, 93octain tune. i noticed an improvement but not much. this morning i put in a semi-custom RWTD e-mail tune. (17 degrees) and i picked up a k&n for the stock swiss cheesed air box. i think im seeing the full potential of the 4lber now, and wishing i wouldnt have messed around and just went straight for the 8lb. course we could shoot ALL the middle men and go straight for the KB

P.S. ive got me a suped up neon to kill
