How I cleaned my seats...

After multiple searches I noticed that this was a HOT topic about 2-2.5 yrs ago. I didn't really find a good how-to and I really needed one because I had no idea where to begin and was concerned to not damage the material. I had a couple stains on the suede-like material, which is actually a cloth named Alcantara.

Every post I read pointed me to one good cleaner. Blue Coral Dri-clean. I never heard of or used this product so I gave it a shot. I just followed the instructions on the can and all I used was a cotton terry cloth. I sprayed the cleaning foam, let it sit for a few seconds, and dabbed(?sp)and softly rubbed it dry. Didn't use the brush it came with because it was to rough for my liking.

The stain on the seat was from a vanilla shake that my wife so generously shared with the seat. So anyway here's a before and after of the same spot on the seat.
BEFORE

AFTER

There was no discoloration or any marks left behind just a nice clean seat. I know a lot of us have or had some stains so I hope this is helpful to someone I know I could have used this when I was stumped.

I have a can and was always a little scared to try it, now that i see what a great job it did for you i'll give it a try. All i want to do is clean mine up and get that new clean look i had when it was new, and the after pic' of your seat looks like a new seat.

No problem!!
I was skeptical at first but I just went ahead and did it. Once it dries (about 15-20 mins) it looks awesome!!

The seat material is not delicate at all. It's just flocked polyester.

Spray some water on, scrub the spot, and use a wet-dry vac to suck up the excess water.

I use a carpet cleaner (the stair cleaning head on a hose) on mine frequently. The carpets, the headliner, and the seats can be cleaned this way.

Talking Seats

Thanks for the post, just yesterday I was calling around to see if anybody knew how to clean the seats without messing the material up.

Your right its not delicate but to the untrained eye, like mine, it looked like if I ran a wet towel it would be ruined.

Trust me, guys. Plain water (and maybe a mild soap solution) and a towel to blot it up are all that is required. I soak my seats until they are dripping and they come out perfectly each time.

Another tip: If you scuff them or get a small burn, a little fine sandpaper and a light touch will bring the nap back up.
