Post Eaton 112 Roots Type Supercharger

I found some information on the Roots Type 112 Eaton Blower that is used on our Lightnings. Hope this helps. http://www.mediai.com/lightning/Tech/tech.html

I read this info on the Eaton Supercharger, and have a few questions that possibly could help with giving us extra boost.
"The Eaton supercharger system incorporates a specially designed bypass valve, which is actuated by a vacuum motor near the throttle body, and recirculates the supercharger air flow when boost is not required. During typical driving conditions, the engine is under boost around 5% of the time, which means the remaining 95% of the time the engine is under vacuum, allowing for better fuel economy and a quieter ride. "
This almost sounds like a turbo wastegate. Should I assume that the blower in the Lightning actually vents blower output until a certain pressure has been reached? This would explain why the gauge shows vac so often and why the boost does'nt seem to kick in untill 2.2K rpms. This also raises the question of whether the threshold on the bypass could be altered to provide more boost at lower RPMs.

Hi Guys,
Sorry Nathan, I did take the post from the other Tech Forum because it was such a good question. I only changed a few minor things, your the one who really had the great question. I'm glad you came over. Did you get the message from the Tech Forum about this message board, or had you already joined?
