Boost gauge inaccurate?
How inaccurate is the boost gauge on our beloved trucks? When I first got my truck, the mark that signifies 8psi was hell to get to no matter how hard I tried to push the pedal through the floorboard, now after 2000 miles and some very spirited driving tonight, I buried the pedal and watched the boost gauge climb to just a hair below the 10psi mark. What gives?

I cannot offer any real expertise here, but mine exhibited more or less the same gains as each 1000 or so miles passed (currently 3000 more or less).
It's gone off the threads by now, but months ago several of us complained about low boost, the vehicles could not spin the wheels on takeoff etc. at very low mileage.
That got better for most of us.
As a side note, check it out if and when you chip your Lightning. Mike and I and a couple of others have a friendly disagreement on this, but "on the gauge", mine exceeds the 10 psi with the chip. Don't know if that is accurate or not, but it sure goes like the hammers of heck.

I've seen the same thing. Kept getting higher indicated boost, and at 8,500 miles it's pegging the gage and running strong. Installed Superchip last night and now it's running REAL STRONG!

Hello everyone! I think that what you guys are seeing is the EEC V processor going through its "learning curve".
These processors have the ability to adapt to the driving style of the user. It took approx. 1000 miles for mine to complete it. I am finally getting better fuel economy, idle and overall preformance. The stock gauges still have a 1-2 pound variance though.
