New
Detroit Truetrac
Applications
Now Available!

The Detroit Truetrac performs like an open differential under normal driving conditions and automatically transfers torque to the wheel with better traction when ground conditions call for it. Because of the proven helical gear design, maintenance is not required as there are no clutches, cones or friction plates to wear out and no friction modifier to add.

Whether you?re cruising on the street, competing at the strip, or driving to work the Detroit Truetrac is the performance choice limited slip differential.

Do you need to setup the ring and pinion after putting the TrueTrac in?

hmmm... didn't know that, but it makes sense, since there are no clutches.
You should've came out with this a few months ago, i would have bought one! I changed my rear end, and I now have slotted carbon fiber clutches in there (they never quite made it to the production vehicles) and are incredibly hard to come across.

Nice new "MOD" for the lightning. Thank you.

The stock diff components can eventually wear out, causing you to do one-wheel burnouts.

I got 60,000 miles outta mine and then you could turn the rear wheels at will when they were off the gound on one side

I've heard very good things about the true tracs on the mustangs. I believe all the Saleens come with them.

While an owner of a new 9" (yet unused) TruTrak for my Mustang project, my understanding is that it is not nearly as strong as the Detroit Locker and not generally recommended from drag strip use. I realize it has better road manners, but wonder about strength.
