Post just got headers

Just replaced stock manifolds with JBA headers. WOW!

I burned up 1/2 a tank of gas in 30 minutes. Accelerating w/ the sound of the headers and Flowmaster muffler is pure harmony and ecstacy. And the headers look sweet too. Took a full day to do the job. Can't wait to hear it after I get my Power Surge Cone Filter Kit. Anytime soon Sal?

Coming from a beginner I can't really estimate how much more power, but there's definitely more power at the rear wheels, harder than before to maintain traction off the line. JBA claims at least 20HP gain at the rear wheels.

One thing I've noticed is exhaust tips have gone from black at the bottom, to completely black inside. Can a chip take care of this?

I'm planning to run it on a track for the first time this weekend, I'll be happy if I can do 14s.

Can you give me more details about the flowmaster you have on your truck. What series, how many, how hard was it to put on.

Thanks!

Cool!!!! Are the headers coated in any way? How was the quality of them? JBA usually makes some pretty decent stuff!!!

The flowmasters are dual in/dual out. I didn't do the work, but it took a couple of hours - a little more complicated than usual from what I understand, I'm sure you can see why if you look at how the stock muffler is set up. Exhaust set up is 2 1/2 " from headers on out.

The JBA headers are ceramic coated. JBA advices to ceramic coat them, even though they are already stainless steel due to the extra heat from the forced induction. The guy who installed them showed me some other stainless steel headers that had blisters on them from extreme heat - pretty nasty looking.

Thumbs up

We took some cool pictures from under the truck, which is the only way you can really get a good look at them. I'll post them (somehow) as soon as they're developed.
