Thumbs down BELLTECH superb customer relations. NOT!

I just thought I would post this reply to one of the threads on the Belltech spindles:

when you see bell tech do this operation in the future[and I am sure you will] WHO told you first!! Stan

I will tell you the MOST correct way to fix this BIG over sight that bell tech did [and this is how I would do it]other than NOT running them!

JUST remember
Well, after reading your comments, I called Belltech today. I asked them if they would modify/introduce a Lightning specific part and he replied "Absolutely NOT because there is NOTHING wrong with them". I told him I was concerned about safety and that others had the same concern. His reply was "that there was allot of false information being circulated on the boards. The slim nut and the chisel on the bolt is the RIGHT way to install the part on the LIghtning as per the instructions included in the box".

I told him that I had a safety concern with that type of installation. He then replied, and I quote exactly, " IF I WAS SO CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY THAT I SHOULDN'T BUY BELLTECH". I then told him that that was an excellent suggestion.

Three weeks before that another so called Belltech tech rep told me that they had done several Lightnings. When all the issues started, they admitted that they hadn't done any.

Well there you go right from the horses mouth or should I say the horses ****.

What a superb example of customer relations. Companies like that don't deserve to be in business. I quickly proceeded to cancel my order.

That's the end of that B.S.

TB

Wow,
I think I am going to return my order too. Has anyone contacted Summit since they are the distributor?
Thanks

Seems like they don't want to spend the $$$ on retooling. I do think there should be some sort of way to keep the nut in place without the chisel but everytime I have done suspension work on a vehicle, I have yet to see a castellated (sp) nut loosen to the point where I could not remove the cotter pin. If the nut were to loosen, it would have been held by the cotter pin.

I would lower it with springs or wait until someone else comes out with drop spindles.

They could at least supply a grade-8 thin pattern nylon insert lock nut instead of a free running jam nut. Peening the thread to lock it is not safe at all.
