Has anyone here ever had our stock wheels polished???

I was looking into doing something different and got a pretty good price to have all of my 2001 L rims polished and shot with a couple coats of clear, and I was wondering if anyone has had this done to their truck?

Just wondering so I could get an idea of what it would look like, my biggest issue would be getting center caps to match the overall look, considering the look is slightly different than chrome. Let me know what you guys think and if you have ever seen this done, thanks.

I've got one wheel done. I plan on starting up on them again once I move into my new house later this year. Mine will take longer than most because I am polishing the inside also.

Very cool Tampa, you still in Tampa by any chance I would love to check them out. What do you plan on doing for the center caps, how are you going to match those?

FLBigDog,

Did you ever talk to Glen about the powder coating and polished lips ?

Just wondering what the result was...

If his prices were high I'd like to know so I can bust his chops....or at least take his money on the golf course...Oh wait...I'll do that part anyways

Hey Art-man, his prices seemed a little high, but that was pretty standard for what was offered locally. I wasn't able to get my hand on a set of 03-04 wheels to do what i wanted anyways. I wish I could have done business with him, but it didn't work out. If I do get those wheels in the future I will def call him.

I had mine clear powder coated, it took some of the shine away but I'm lazy when it comes to having to clean & polish wheels on a daily driver... They wash off w/ soap & water and don't need polishing.

Sorry for the glare...it's the only photo I have handy

Here's a side view....you can see they did not loose that much shine...

Actually Art-man, I think I am gonna just have my 01 stockers done in a darker silver than the stock color, almost grayish like yours just a tad lighter, any idea what he would charge me for that?

SVT_KY has a set of wheels in the color that I want to get them done it, I just can't find the pic for some reason.

Not sure what he would charge, are you near or in Tampa ? I could take you over or meet you there sometime and see what deal he could cut... and BTW if you're interested I still have my stock 04' wheels.

Send me an e-mail and I'll shoot you my number and see if I can help you out.
