Post Borla Exhaust for Lightning???

Anyone know if Borla is going to make an exhaust for our 99.5 trucks? I would love one personally!!! They don't sound very good on F-bodies (Camaro/Firebird) but they do sound great on some of the trucks I have seen/heard with them!!!! I e-mailed them about it, but who the heck knows if they will ever get back!!!

Anyone know?

Thx!

I sent them 4 e-mails requesting info on the Lightning and never received a response. I atleast received answers from Flow-Master & BB Engr. (Flow-Master said nothing dedicated yet & suggested their series 40 mufflers with custom pipe bending - BB said they would consider developing something if enough interest is shown). Good luck!

I've used a Borla cat-back system on my '90 SHO for 8 years and love it. Pretty pricy compared to others, but excellent quality.

About exhaust sound on our '99 Lightnings: I have noticed a deepening of the exhaust burble as the miles mount up. It's now quiet a bit better sounding than when it was new. Of course, I only have about 1400 miles on it, so don't know if this trend will continue, but I would be surprised if it gets very much louder (although I can hope). Anyone else noticed this?

Mine seems to be getting a lower pitch and a very satisfying rumble, especially at highway speeds. I thought this may be due to the timing change from the chip, but may also be the engine wearing in and getting comfortable. In any case, I like the note and the pitch, it's loud enough to get attention and sound like it means business, but not enough to get on my nerves or drown out the stereo.

i've got over 10,000 on my 99, sounds a little meaner, but not much. as soon as an exhaust comes out, i'm there. now if we could fix that pesky popping sound.

Copied from a previous thread:I don't know where the post went, but will happily repost my experience in getting mine fixed again. There is nothing proprietary about the info given as this is published by SVT in thier service bulletin to the dealers.
The upper and lower control arm torques were not up to spec by 1/2. The lower control arm fasteners were torqued to 140 lb/ft and the uppers were torqued to 110 lb/ft, per spec as found in the SVT Tech manual. Both of these specs were on the upper end of the range indicated for each position, and helped a great deal to lessen the amount of noise under the front end. There were distinct clean spots around the bushings showing where they had shifted during cornering.

The other thing found, and again, this was related by SVT to the dealer, was to lube the steering stops to eliminate the grinding sound that was prevelant after the clunk was diminished. My dealer applied some bearing grease to the stops and the problem went away entirely. Once again, Sal was right in his assesment of the issue.

I have informed my dealer that I don't consider this a fix, but a stop-gap measure until a more permanant solution can be found. I have suggested they consider using a urethane bushing or bump-stop to fix it once and for all. I was informed that it was already being looked at and we would be notified if/when they decided on a permanant fix.

I didn't figure that Borla would return e-mails....bastards! B&B might be a viable alternative though.....I had one on my 95 Z28 and it was nice but the quality of their welds was what got me because the pipes were cracking....they probably have this all fixed now though!
Hmmm.....I just picked up my truck this morning and put about 200 KMs on it and it is already starting to get a bit deeper. Got I love this thing!!!!!
