Snuglid
The snugLid can be had in two mounting configurations.
One involves drilling the bed for the mounts and the other uses a bolted clamp system under the bed rails. I have the latter and am extremely pleased with it. It looks great and the top can be removed in a matter of seconds by removing two split rings (like keyrings) from the lid hinges, pop off the gas struts and then lift it off, it's that simple. It can be done by one person, but two is better because it is a little unwieldy for one.
If I remember correctly, I gave about $675.00 for it, painted and installed. That included the water gasket and grey carpet liner under the top to match my BedRug.
I understand that A.R.E. makes a vry nice cover as well, you may want to look into it.
I opted for the SnugLid because it was a little less money for what I wanted and the black looks better w/o the edge gaurd treatment around the bottom.
NOTE: I noticed a huge difference in mileage and drivability after the cover was installed, a whole lot less turbulence and it's quieter, too.
Good Luck!

Chuck,
Your lid sounds very nice. I'm one of the ones with an A.R.E. (and a BedRug) and I love it. Would recommend both (lid 'n liner) to anyone. Sounds like yours may be a little easier to remove, however.

I am tring to decide what kind of lid to put on Lightning? Have looked at Snuglid and Specialty Cover. Would want one that is easy to remove for larger objects. How do you attach Snuglid to the bed? Does any one have a Specialty Cover on thier truck?
Thanks
Dennis
