Drag radials

I need new back tires, so I think im going with Nitto 555R drag raidals. Do they hold up good other than there short life of 10,000 -12,000 miles? My truck is driven about 3500 miles a year and thats it. It normally sits 1-2 weeks without being moved, am I going to have problems with "flat spots" or "dry rot". So to sum it all up, my question is will I like them as good as the stock F1's or should I just get a new pair of those? Thank you!

I liked them alot. I drove mine less than you and never had any issues with not driving for as long as 2 months at a time. No flat spots.

They hooked better than F1s on the street (as long as it was at least 70 degrees.....). They handled well in the rain. Can't say they were much better than the F1s at the track because I never got better than a 1.8xx 60' which I got on F1s too. But when I went, it was cool and dark. The track wasn't prepped very well.

And as far as looks, I think the 305s fill the wheel well a little nicer than the F1s. That was with a 2" drop anyway.

I say go for it.

When you do drive it do you drag race it or street race it? If no I don't see the point in getting 555Rs over F1s. When I graduate I'm going to buy a second car/truck and put some 555Rs on and leave them, but everytime I take my truck out it will be raced.

Mostly just racing and never in rain.

My truck sits for a week at a time, and no flat spots or dry rot issues with my drag radials. The softer compound does seem to be more prone to little cuts and gauges though. The only thing I miss about the F1s are how loud they squeal when you spin them, and bark on the shifts. The 555r only makes noise on some road surfaces when they aren't that warm yet. But overall, I prefer the 555r to the F1 for rear tires.

Ha Ha. That's great.

I used to scare the bejeebus out of anyone within 30ft of me on my 1-2 shifts with the FTVB and F1s.
