Does Carmax offer decent $$ on trade-ins?

I'm not a fan of trading cars in, I think I can get more selling them on my own, but just wondering if Carmax is any good. They have some good deals on 03 and 04 L's and would save me time going that route...

From what i understand around here they are really good to work with on price etc...
I don't hear anyone complain, most people leave happy but with the current incentives i'm not sure, you wanna sell the L and upgrade?

The local Ford dealer Gave me 1K more than car max. This was a strait up sail and not a trade in. Find a Ford dealer that dosent have a lightning on the lot and you might get a good price.

they offer pretty good $, but still nt near as much as if you sold it yourself. they have to be able to resell it and make money also.

right now they are not paying much at all for trucks and suvs, because that market is rather soft due to gas prices.
