Post Texas Rally!

Over on the "Events and Happenings" board here on F150Online, there is a plan afoot to have a road rally/get together the weekend of 10/16 10/17 (I think the dates are right). It will probably be held in the Hill Country around the Austin/New Braunfels area. These guys are driving "normal" trucks and I thought we might be able to spice up the meet with a little Lightning thunder, just to make the "commoners" jealous (just kidding...no flames please). Anyone interested needs to post a reply on the thread marked Texas Rally??? If I can make it, I intend to go.

Sounds like it could be a real blast.

rsmckinley,

I got eliminated in the second round by .056 seconds. If I had dialed my truck closer or cut a better light, I would have advanced. I'm not complaining, it's been 20 years since I was last on a track, and I'm surprised and grateful for what I was able to do yesterday.

John Norris (1st Gen, red) met me there (he lives nearby as well) and helped me out with rules and procedures a lot. A very fine and knowledgable gentleman to say the least. He also finished 3rd in the street catagory and ran almost a perfect race to get to the semi-final run.

My best run was after eliminations started and it cooled off a bit (JEEZ, was it hot!) and it turned a 14.46 @ 96.7 mph. I did get to head to head w/John during practice earlier and spanked him pretty hard, even with a rotten reaction time. No dig against John or his truck, but that Black Lightning of mine is one MEAN *****'! Can't wait for OCT/NOV to get here to find out what she is really capable of!

I too live in Baytown but had no idea there was anything out of the norm going on till I passed to assist my father working on his house in Old River...
MAN IT WAS HARD NOT TO BLOW THAT OFF!!!!
I'm going to have to pay closer attention to what's going on out there. I use to spend a fair amount of time there yrs. ago. Now I will be there more since the new toy arrived. It is as fast or a bit faster than my old 429 powered, C6 10" converter, 350 geared F-100 SB.

Hey just would like to say that we commoners would really like it if you lightning folk would attend the rally. We don't want ya'll to be upset that you were not invited. Hey Wyldman don't take this as a flame, just wanted to make sure that this stays toward the top so everyone has the chance to see it.
