I am currently in the process of doing what TX SVT LIGHTNING has done to his wheels. I bought a set of 04 wheels and I am having trouble finding a place that can do a machined lip like he has, for my wheels. And I still dont know how if I powdercoat the wheels, that doing the machined lip after wont screw up the powdercoating. But I'm working on it
Expect around 50 or more per wheel to strip and coat.

FLBigDog

Glen's Wheel Polishing in Tampa did my Boyd Coddingtons
He's done a few factory wheels w/ machined lips & powdercoating.
Cost will vary depending on the job. The powdercoating should not come off the lips on the wheel if the tire shop uses the correct mounting irons w/ a protective sleve. Mine are Powder coated the truck color in the center w/ clear on the whole wheel.

He has the lathe...They do a crapload of wheel straitening. You should have seen what my wheels looked like before they got em...I bought them used and did not expect more than 2 in the set to be salvagable... the lips on all of them had to be re-machined.

Art-man you by any chance have the number for that place, I am having trouble finding it, thanks.
I did get one place to quote me today on machining a lip, oh he only wanted $140 per wheel, I almost dropped the phone when he said that.

$140 a wheel??

My guy charged me $150 per wheel, but that was to powder coat (4) 24x10" wheels... front and back, while leaving the 4"+ lip polished.

Ed, I have several powdercoaters that I use all of which are easy to deal with and not far. Let me know what idea you have for the rims, and I can get you some quotes.
