A 1/10 scale 99 model? Who makes it? I haven't seen that. I'd like to pick up one of those. I have the Tamyia R/C 99 Lightning, painted to match my red 99 of course. It's a hit when I go to the local car shows
Any info on the model would be great....

I would also like to find a 1/10th scale model of the 99.5 Lightning. Please indicate source and price.
Thanks in advance,
Chuck 'Wyldman' Shelton
P. S. Sal, where did you come by the RC model of the 99 Lightning? Are there any left to purchase? My son would go ballistic if I could get him his own Lightning!
Thanks,
Chuck Shelton

Hey Chuck, Sal here. You can get the R/C 99 Lightning from any hobby shop that sells R/C cars. It's made by Tamyia, kit number 58222. If they don't stock it, they can order it. It's about $65, which is just for the kit, you will need controller, batt back, charger, etc. seperately.

Guys,
Bill Murray was offering these Lightings at cost for F150 online members. He owns a Hobbytown USA in Kennasaw, GA. I don't know if the offer is still on the table, but I would be interested. How about it our fellow Lighting Owner, and white is faster.

It is 10:00 Sunday night, and I just got back from my shop (HobbyTown USA) and I'm a bit tired.
However, I am working with Webmaster on a package deal for F-150online members for the Tamiya 1/10 scale RC Lightning which would include all necessary items to have a fully functional vehicle. It will be offered in several levels of performance equivelant to let us say a totally stock one to a very competitive one such as a modded "Superchipped" real Lightning. My personal 1/10 scale Lightning has a modified motor, a very sophisticated electronic speed control, a high performance battery pack and so on. It is about 3 times as fast as a stock kit truck.
This will take about 2 weeks to finalize and we will make the info available at that time.
As an FYI, we could also offer stock Ford F-150 RC trucks as well as Rangers in 1/10 Scale. Soon to be available is a 1/24 scale plastic model kit of the Lightning and again, we would offer a very
special price to members of this list.
Note, I never intended to make any business off of this list or my ownership of a Lightning, but I do own the largest HobbyTown in the states and I do a tremendous business in RC cars and trucks. As such, I can pass some real savings on to those of you who wish to own an RC or plastic model of the real thing.

Bill,
Thanks a million for the great offer on Lightning models. Like others, I'm sure, I will definitely want one of the Tamiya RC versions (probably the "stock" version), plus the 1:24 plastic kit. (Which company is bringing out the plastic kit?)
Also, do you happen to know if any of the cast metal model makers might be offering a '99 Lightning? If so, that would probably prove to be the most popular of all.
Thanks again for looking out for your fellow Lightning owners.

Would like to order the 1/25 scale modle of the 99.5 Lightning if you have them yet. I think i will pass on the rc verson last time got into rc cars set me back around 1200 dollars now it sets with dust on it.Need money for real Lightning this time. Plus my wife would kill me if I got a rc in mail. By the way is the kit electric or gas? I tend to go a little overboard on things like that. Thanks again

Lightning,
The Tamiya kit is electric and lists for $116. Like you, I have about $1200 worth of RC crap lying around, and a wife who wondered why I needed another RC car, when I don't use the old one.
Practicality didn't stop me from getting the real truck. I'll be damned if I'll let it get in the way of an itty-bitty toy truck. I figure I can put that all that radio and speed equipment to good use.
Regards,
Gordon
