Question Is anyone out there running AutoTap software?

I saw this, and was wondering about running it to complement my Diablo datalogging.... Any opinions? Is it worth the $$?

I use it. The thing I like the most about it is the ability to look at and scan other OBDII vehicles as well.

It can only datalog 20 items per second but generally it's enough to trouble shoot anything you might need to nail down during a 1/4 mile blast.

So in your opinion, it's worth the $$? does it have the capability of changing any of the parameters, or does it just log them?

On a Ford it can only log them. On the LS1 chevy motors you can buy the package to actually program stuff. I guess this is a nice tool the vette guys use?

btw: I have the additional ford service pack. When it loads on my lightning it says it sees over 4,300 things.

I've been doing two studies this year. One is the normal tuning stuff like timing, MAF, IAT2 temps.. ect.

I've also been logging / reading (with on screen dials, graphs, or just digital readouts) the operating temps. Head coolant temps, t-stat temps, tranny temps, IAT temps, ect...

Worth the money? I think it is because of the ability to look at and clear codes on most any OBD2 car or truck

I would take the money for the Autotap and put ot towards an SCT Xcal2

It does the same if not better logging and data collection BUT ALSO lets you change some parameters

Autotap is OLD school - I had one 2 or 3 years ago and sold it -

SCT XCAL is much more feature rich ....

Hey Doug, you should've used future tense rather than present tense. The SCT XCAL2 will be much more feature rich once the firmware updates are released.

Here's a link to the discussion about the firmware updates being release next month: http://www.sctflash.com/forum/showth...=9516#post9516

Can this Xcal go from one vehicle to another? Like a Chevy or anything else OBD2? Does it work with the 05 vehicles?
