converter gone bad...

Could someone give me info on things to notice when the converter is locking up or gone bad? My truck has tons of miles and i'm thinking it's starting to let go.. On a WOT punch after the downshift to the next gear my truck drags into gear... How much do one of these cost and wheres a good place to get one from?

Thanks

Good call - I'd try one of these, and if you have the extra $$ lying around, look into a 2400 stall converter... That should hook you up, but GOOD!

No I don't have an FTVB..That will be one of my next mods.. I can't afford a stall right now but would be nice.. So guys does it sound like my convertor could be gone?.. I was thinking it was a glitch in my superchip program which is old as rust. I may try to see if it does it w/out the chip but still kinda scared w/ my 4lber on stock program.. The power is good w/ my truck now but it just seems like it's not putting it to the ground correctly like it once did stock.. My billtech shocks/springs are gone so maybe that could be it?? Or maybe it could be the 98 degree whether that could make the launch feel mushy.. I've definetly worked out the kinks with my power loss but the truck just has a mushy sloppy launch and shift.. Thats why Im assuming it could be the converter??

well, i don't know about your problem but if you decide you need a new one I'd probably let my stock one go pretty cheap. 6500 miles on it and works great but stalls at much too low of an RPM than I'd like so I may be getting a 2400 stall. only problem is it's still in the truck and my mod fund is depleted for the year says the wife. but now if I can finally win my bracket class in the next few weeks... look out.

i say wait til it's a little cooler and see how she feels. may be a larger problem than converter but i dunno.

Thats what i'm going to do is wait until its a bit cooler.. Every since i fixed my problem with the truck we've been having scorching temps.. I remember few years ago when it was running like a dawg in the heat and the first day of fall It drove like a different animal..
Thanks
