And this is a good thing? I thought the reason that Lightnings almost did not exist was because they were burning up the trannies without dropping power during shifting?

The question was never answered by the Superchip Dist., would this void the warranty?

Also, what about mods?

Would a reburn be nessary for us that have mods?

Pulley's, 90mm mass air, Air induction kits?

With the whole voiding the warranty thing, with removing the ford program that drop 4 cylinders per shift, that is there to save the tranny, if you reprogram that wouldn't that put more strees on the tranny and the tranny lose it's life.

thanks,

To most of the newer guys (like me), you need to realize that most of this thread was discussed in 1999!! It took me a minute to try to determine why everyone was suddenly so hot for a Superchip.

Ah yes....the good ole' days when the only thing we cared about was helping each other go faster. Not flaming one another for outrageous claims and such.

Oh well, time goes on. Fun to look back though.

If you look even further back, you'll see that we were actually excited just to get the open air filter from Sal in like July 1999.

Your 'warrenty'(sic) went out at about 21 yrs. of age. Not sure about your Ls warranty---didn't you get that extended warranty(100,000 miles or 10 yrs.) that covers all mods and racin' incidents ?

To be more specific, go to your local Ford dealer, order as many spare engines as you can afford and store them in your garage. With any luck, they will last 100,000 miles or 10yrs.
