Guess I must have some rather odd rubbing alcohol then...the label on mine states "70% ethyl alcohol (denatured)"

However, at this point, I must agree with the electronic cleaner spray...the thought didnt cross my mind till it was mentioned....contacting the wires with a q-tip might be a mistake after all. :o

there is a difference between denatured and rubbing alcohol. denatured alcohol contains ethyl alcohol, but is usually synthetically produced (as opposed to fermenting of sugars) and has additives that make it un-fit for drinking. rubbing alcohol is usually 70% isopropyl alcohol with 30% water added, and sometimes may have some ethanol in it as well. "rubbing alcohol" i meant for rubbing on the skin, and denatured ethanol sometimes has additives that make in unfit for such uses.
