Dealer is replacing my defective rims.
I have the dealer replacing 2 rims on my new
Red Lighting, the clearcoat on the rims seemed to drip down to the bottem of the rim before they were completely dry. I noticed the other day when I was detailing the beast
, the rims appeared to be bubbling up but after taking it to the dealer he said someone stood them up before the clearcoat dried. He order 2 new rims without hesitation, the other 2 rims are fine.
Also I found an excellent product to protect the suede & leather seats. It called KIWI
Suede & Nubuck leather protector. Works and looks really great. It even gives the Suede alot more luster.
Enjoy,
Terry

Thanks for the interior cleaner info! I was going to ask if anyone had a good product for cleaning the light grey material. Also those of you that haven't had anything ceramic coated before (the exhaust tips), they can be polished with a metal polish like Wenol, NeverDull, Mothers mag and aluminum polish, etc. You can make it shine nearly as good as chrome.
I talked with the guys at Ford SVT and the gray suede type material is cloth, not leather. They also would not commit to Scotchguard or anything like that..."talk to your dealer" was the battle cry.
I talked with SVT about the material used in the seat and have reassured me that grey Suede material is indeed suede. Made by a conpany call Harris Suede Inc. I have used
this Kiwi Protector on the seats since you can apply it leather or suede. Looks great, I have yet to spill anything on it but I'm sure it will bead up since I tested this on some suede shoes of mine.

Well, if it's really suede (meaning it covered a cow in its earlier life), then Ford SVT needs to change all their sales material.
On page 9 of the '99 Lightning brochure, under the Interior Features caption, it says: "Trimmed in a combination of Ebony textured leather and Medium Graphite cloth ...". I've seen other FMC vehicles trimed in the same material. It appears to be similar to those fake suede (but still expensive) sports jackets that were popular a few years ago.
Anyway, it's great looking and feels wonderful regardless of whether it came from a cow or a textile mill. And, if the suede preparations work on it, then it doesn't really make much difference.
