Mike Troyer:
With reference to my post under the Aftermarket/Computer Chips/Dyno Results!!! thread: after the completion of the highly successful F150Fest at Superchips in Orlando next month, how about a LightningFest in the fall? Maybe I could make arrangements for use of a DynoJet(sp?) or standard type chassis dyno up here in Michigan and get you and/or Superchips to attend. Maybe we could get a Ford/SVT tour in Dearborn...
Am I dreamin'?

Dear Gary,

Sorry, we aren't in the decal business. I didn't answer it because I didn't take it seriously. Superchips is a chipmaker, not a decal designer/distributor, so you'll have to look elsewhere for that decal to be made, sorry!

Dear DHFerguson,

The only way Superchips is going to be involved is if it's at their facility. they aren't going to travel for something like this, sorry.

If we can get enough owners interested, then I can make an event specially for the Lightning's happen at the Superchips facility, but that's the only way. They are far too busy designing new applications and products to leave home, other than once or twice a year, such as in October, when the big SEMA show is on in Las Vegas, and then at the Ford World Challenge, but that's about it for Superchips traveling anywhere.

Bests,

I am not sure where UR thinking comes from lately. I have seen very few automotive after market specialty parts supplier not have a DECAL advertising their product name. I guess I will get a hold of SUPPPPPPERCHIP and make the suggestion myself. Thought U might have wanted the credit, but that's ok I'll do it myself. I just thought it would be unique to have a SUUUUPERCHIP on our trucks for people to ask about. If U don't think it is good advertising just look at any Winston cup car's, do U think their spouncers are in the decal business also.

Hello Dear Lighting Owners & Superchip Friends, I'm defintely confused is the shootout for the New Lighting or is a show to
prove that superchips blows hypertech out of the water. We all know that superchips is a
much superior product so why waste time when
we can work on getting a superchip in production for the Lighting. I would be glad to take a week of vacation in Florida, rent a car for the whole week, lend you my 99.5 Red Lighting so you can run the test needed
to get the chip in production. I expect though that I could get a very, very good price on the first chip. If this will work for you Mike let me know ASAP and I will schedule a week of leave.

Can't patiently wait for the Superchip,
Terry

Dear Gary,

I told you that Superchips is not going to make that specific decal you requested here. That's the only thing that was discussed, your specific suggestion, and I correctly told you that they are not going to make that specific decal. You never asked if Superchips had any kind of decal available, nor did I think about telling you that in the past, on occasion, they have had some type of decals, simply because they are hardly ever in stock, and I really don't want to hear complaints about them not being in stock, I don't control that. That's *their* baby, not mine. Nothing I can say, think, or do is going to affect that.

They have, from time to time, had a Superchips decal available, and in all the years I've been with them, they have rarely had it available or in stock. So from our standpoint, it's something that has never been readily available, and we do not control that.

It has absolutely nothing to do with my attitude, or anything else, it's a simple matter of supply, so please, skip the personal innuendo.

If Superchips has some in stock, that's great, I wish they would supply us with them on an ongoing basis. We would love to be able to give one away with every Superchip! They used to have large decals that Superchips dealers could put up in their windows, they had a decal that could be used at the top of the windshield of vehicles, and looked great, and then smaller units as well. 99 times out of 100 when we have requested them, we have not been able to get them.

I'd like to see one put in every Superchip product they ship automatically!

Dear asdeman,

If you will go back to the top of this list, and read my original post that opened this thread, the contact info is right there for you to make arrangements, directly with the appropriate person at Superchips.

We sincerely appreciate your generous offer, and yes of course you would get a great deal, to say the least! Superchips would love to hear from you, the contact person for this project is Steve Madole, and he can be reached @ 888-227-2447. He is the Chief Engineer for Superchips product development, so he's extremely busy, and sometimes hard to get in touch with, but if he's unavailable when you call, you can leave a message for him, and he'll be happy to contact you. Let me know if this stalls anywhere in the process, and I'll be glad to help if I can, but all the arrangements basically need to be made directly between the vehicle owner and Steve at Superchips, ok?

I wish you all the best, and please let me know how it turns out!

Anyone who wishes to communicate with me in a timely manner should email me privately, ro give us a call, as I don't always get to every section here everyday, so it can sometimes be a few days between my visits here.

Sorry U misunderstood my intent. I wasn't meaning that SUPERCHIP should make a special decal for me. The msg I sent to SUPERCHIP was not mis-understood so for some reason they figured out what I ment. I truly didn't expect them to take my idea SUUUUPERCHIPED and run with it. Sorry for the mis-understanding. I will try to do better next time, and not leave anything open to interpretation.

Dear Gary,

Hey, no sweat! You know, it's funny, anytime something "happens" here, whether it's a misunderstanding, or some other "event" of some type, it usually turns out to be a good thing that it happened. Meaning, that some useful information resulted, that type of thing, and I think that's what we have here.

By you bringing this up, it's brought more attention to both to us and to Superchips that people love to have these things, and if this helps in any way to have Superchips make sure they have them in stock, all the better! It's like you said in one of your earlier posts, it's basically free advertising for Superchips, and *any* company loves that! And, I should have responded immediately to let you know that *a* decal has existed from time to time, I just didn't think to, I suppose simply because over the years, I've been able to get them so infrequently, that it becomes basically non-existent in my mind. At any rate, I learned once again, that you have to listen, *and* pay attention, when dealing with the public. Thanks for helping me to see that. It isn't exactly news, but a reminder now and then sure doesn't hurt!

So hat's off, good job, and don't worry about a thing. It's a great environment we have here, where everyone can express his or her opinion, and I would *never* want to change any aspect of that. Call 'em like you see 'em.

Thanks, Gary!

Mike Troyer,

To take the SuperChip decal one step further and after my fiasco with a Dodge Dakota R/T over in "Computer Chips," I think I need one of those magnetic decals, one that you can slap on the side of the door after a victory and then you can slither your hand out the window to rip it off the door after a defeat. Whatdya think?

Mike,
Any idea on how to get in touch with SEMA? Hope to see you there if you can make it! And if you do, drop me a line, perhaps I could recommend some places to see/eat, etc....or even better, give me the opportunity to treat you to dinner. Thanks!

Neal
