What is going to happen to our Lightning Vendors?
Talking with some guys the other day and a good question came up.
With ford no longer making these trucks......and possibly never making these trucks again, what is going to become of our Lightning specific vendors?? I mean i'm sure alot of stuff as far as engines can be transfered. I mean they plan on using the current cobra power plant in the new SVT Adrenaline. I'm just wondering how long these "lightning specific" parts are going to be around. Say 4 years from now i want to replace a part on my truck. Am I going to have to hunt or pay through the nose?? Alot of the guys I think will gear up for all the new mustang products getting released.
Just wondering what you vendors have to say about our poor dying breed. How long are you guys going to be able to ride this wave out as far as buisness goes before you explore other routes. I know Jim from JDM has been into the Mustangs for a long time and was one of the first to have the new body mustang, even raced it at JDM day. I know most of you have seen Sal's new project. I don't hear too much about JLP , and REM, and LFP.

I would think just as in every other business, 'As long as there is a demand there will be some sort of a supply'
The good thing is the lightning vendors are staying in buisness with the mustangs also and should be around for a while.
I am preety sure there is still Cyclone/Typhoon and Buick GN vendors and these vehicles have been done for a long time.

I will definitely continue with Lightning products, but you have to be where the market is hot as well. While PSP is most known for Lightning performance, I have always done performance for ALL Fords. We did sell the Lightning to move on to our 05 project, but that doesn't mean we won't do Lightnings anymore. It's just the hot market at this time. Lightning parts sales have dropped off ALOT since production ended. The bread and butter of Lightning parts was the chip/filter/pulley type orders, and with no more new trucks, those kind of orders are getting scarce. So it's time to concentrate on a new area of Fords, but we definitely won't be forgetting the Lightning guys
.
Great question BTW
