Predator/ECU problems
Predator/ECU problems
I took my truck in for diagnostics to find a bad coil pack. when i got the truck back it felt different. I plugged in my predator and it said there was a new registry entry. then I checked and it said the last program written was the original backup. I had not put the backup on it, so I thought hmmm, this might be why things are not feeling right. so I tried to go in and tweak my performance tune and it was not there, just the canned tunes. so i tried to upload my factory tune and it would not do it cuz it was already there. Ok, no big deal righ? so I update the predator with the new software and upload my tune to the predator. Then I try to install it. It goes to back up the original and tells me it has a custom tune already written. ok, I will delete that and put my factory tune back on the predator and upload it. so I put the factory backup (thank god I saved it) back on the predator and try to upload it. nothing, keeps telling me it has a tune on it and wont do anything. so I delete all the tunes and try and canned tune. again it tells me there is already a tune on it and it cant save the orignal.
WTF, my Lightning is acting all screwy performance wise and now I cant do anything. anyone know what I should do? Is there anything I can do? This really sux. Oh, my predator came from JLP and the tune I had on it from PSP. I need to get this figured out.
Help, please.

Hopefully you saved your custom tune on your PC?
Restore the factory tune back into your truck, which will clear out your Predator, the same way it was, when it was first delivered to you.
Then load your custom tune back into it. When you plug it back into your truck, it will force you to put the factory tune back into the Predator (vehicle now married to Predator) first, then you can load your custom tune into it.
I don't think you have to plug the Predator into your truck and upload the factory tune into the Predator before being able to load your custom tune into the Predator, but I'm not positive.

thats just it, I cant do anything with it. I cant restore the factory tune, I cant upload a custom tune, nothing. it is telling me it has a custom tune it in, but when I check the last tune written, it tells me its the factory tune that is on it. but when I go to upload the psp tune, it trys to back up the factory tune and wont cuz it thinks there is a custom tune in it.

Can you delete the custom tune through the "options" and then restore factory tune into the vehicle, clearing it out? If it doesn't have the factory tune placed there from the truck, I wonder if you have to have the Predator get the factory backup from the vehicle and not your PC?
Maybe you'll have to call Diablosport.
Maybe you'll have to call Diablosport.
I cleared the pred of all tunes. I then tried to restore the back up and it wont, it says either the original tune is in the truck or the original is not on the pred. It wont get the back up of the truck, it wont write to the truck. even though it says the last tune written was the original back up, when I try to program, it says there is a tune already installed an it can not write over an existing performance tune.

Sounds like the same that happened to me you will have to call Diablo at 561-908-0040 they will ask you for your code off your Preditor have it plugged into your truck and they will give you a code to force your Preditor to reset then you can load up your factory tune on there and then your custom tune.
