Thanks, but how do you know how much is 1/2? How much fluid does it hold total?

If you pre-mix the coolant and water at 50/50 ratio you dont have to worry about the system capacity. Whatever you poor in it is at a 50/50 mix.

Distilled water just doesn't have the impurities that regular water has in it. Don't forget to add a bottle of water wetter, too. You could get away with 25/75 coolant/water in the summer time. Won't hurt the system. I know some people who run straight up water in the summer.

they sell 50/50 mix at most part stores now, so no need to by a gallon of distilled water AND a gallon of antifreeze unless youre a mad chemist!

What would happen if you put just the coolant without mixing it?

In other words... anti-freeze retains heat and water gets rid of it. That's why some run plain water during the summer... water wetter is a good idea in any case.

Ok so I should drain mine and add distilled water or water wetter. What exactly is water wetter? Isn't water already wet!!

Yeah, but Water Wetter breaks down surface tension and allows for more thermal transfer. It really, really works.

I think i am going to give it a try. Does the wetter need to be mixed or is it a substitute for distilled water?
