What makes the plug tip bend outwards

As the topic say; what makes the plug tip bend outwards. I took out two of my plugs (front driver side), and the "hooks" were bent a bit outwards. What makes them do this?

PS: does any of you have a "how to change plugs for newbies" manual for a L?

What was the gap on the plugs?

if your patience is thin like mine, my tip is break the first plug change into two days. one side each day. this may keep you from shooting the neighbor's dog and smashing something expensive with a 10lb hammer.
