Motor update.
Well it has been close to if not 3,000 miles since my JDM long block was installed. Figured it is time to give an update on how it is doing.
Motor and truck are running great. Truck makes about 15 pounds of boost with the street program. Feels like an animal. If you don't watch yourself you can be doing 100+ in a matter of seconds. Instant power as soon as you step on the peddle.
Idle is nice and smooth, wish it had a little more lope, but hey I can live with that.
Motor is silent at ALL temperatures. No abnormal noises what-so-ever.
I have never actually measured it but the truck seems to get good gas mileage for what it is IMHO.
After all the crap I went thru, I never thought I could love my truck again, but JDM has me doing just that!
I am truely pleased/impressed with this motor. I couldn't have asked for anything better.
If you are in the market for a motor, give JDM a call, they may be a couple dollars more but in the end it is all worth it!
Next up is 60LB injectors, SCT MAF, maybe a power pipe and a little bit of Nitrous.

Matt, sounds good to me!! With all the crap that a lot of us go through with these trucks, what really matters in the end is that you enjoy the truck. In the quest to go faster, problems often arise, and that can take the fun out of it. If you can't enjoy the truck, might as well sell it.
Matt,
Glad you can enjoy your truck now.
I read a while back you did the LFP transmission upgrade. I think you talked about eventually comparing it to the FT monster in a box. Did you ever do that? I'm going to be doing a converter next, and wanted to get your opinions. Going with factory tech it will cost 2k to do the tranny&converter plus labor. What are your recommendations?
Glad you can enjoy your truck now.

The LFP kit retails for either $550 or $650(just don't remember). So for about $1300-$1400 plus install you could have a pretty stout transmission.
If I run into any problems with my trans I will probably try the Monster in a Box kit just to compare. Hell maybe I will just do it anyway.
You wanna send me one Gregg and I will give an unbiased report>???
