spacer question

I have my phenolic spacer that i have ran for about a year now on my old ported eaton. I got a steig blower to put on now and the inlet is larger than my phenolic spacer. It is a good 1/4 all the way around. The spacer is also smaller than the intake plenum. The question is will the restriction cause the gains the spacer would yied to cancel out or even hurt more. Also i dont think there is enougth material there to file out the spacer to make it work plus it would never be perfect.

i would either open it up to match the openings in the upper plenum and eaton, or just leave it off.
