i really like my Porter Cable compressor (Lowes sells them).

do NOT buy the cheap Campbell Hausfeld impact stuff. they are good for less than half their rated torque specs and just plain suck.

ingersol rand has a line out called Powerforce. i really like my Powerforce impact wrench. i last saw Sears selling them in their catalog.

ingersoll has a 1/2 inch drive titanium air impact, the 2125 i believe, thats 1000 ft/lbs. It's in my box for whatever nuts and bolts my everyday impact doesn't break loose. actually i have more problems keeping sockets and extensions from breaking with the IR impact

I have the 1/2 and 3/4" impacts from IR. They are by far the best made impacts.

Yeah, Sears' customer service is going downhill faster than a pig on roller skates. But being a lawyer for a living, I make short work of recalcitrant drones.

All of the ones near me carry what they have in the catalog (except for the catalog-only specialty tools). But I pretty much mail order all of my stuff from Harbor Freight (cheap, occasional use junk) or Sears. At craftman.com, you can check stock at your local store(s).

Tim's pick for best garage accessory:

Racedeck FreeFlow. It looks cool as hell. It's an open grid structure, so junk just falls down into the cracks, where it can be hosed out a few times a year.

The regular Racedeck looks sweet, but I am tired of cleaning the garage floor. Plus, since the tires/jacks/etc ride on the top ridge of the FreeFlow, it stays looking nice.

I just installed it in a two-car garage tonight after work. less than 2 hours for 400 SF. $1,200 shipped.

I will post some pics once the garage is done.

I still love this thing!!!
It is perfect for my needs and very affordable. I love the fact that it can be completely removed and stored into a corner in less than 10 minutes.
I use a Ingersol Rand impact wrench....it is Awesome...I have used many brands of impacts and this one can take my abuse and has plenty of torque.I highly recommend.

www.amazon.com has a couple 60 gallon compressors for way less than a grand. I have the mobile 25 gallon and it is a great all-around quality unit. It also drives my Ingersol Rand impact at 600 ft lbs. Make sure your air tools are less than the cfm rating of your compressor; some air tools are air HOGS.

I've got a 25gal and the same Ingersol Rand, awesome impact for sure. Just sucks that the compressor comes on every 2 minutes. I guess I got ripped off, I paid $500 for my compressor, it's a Coleman, got it at Sams Club a few years back.
