Unhappy Custom Car Graphics - Dallas "APE" Wrap ?

I saw a TV car show where they took a new black Nova racecar and
did a full body wrap with a custom graphic. They said it was called ape wrap and the comapany was in Dallas.

I'm trying to find that particular company and more info on how to do a semi-full body wrap, cost, local installers or any other info.

Please advise if you've seen this new stuff. It looked pretty cool on TV but never saw it close up.

seen a once Maroon hummer wrapped in Pink w/Barbie logos on here locally. Good looking soccer mom drives it. I think someone said this is how some of the nascar teams do thier paint schemes now too. Neat process!

Can't afford that but they also said that a kit could be had for a few hundred.
I want a real nice flame for a red Lighning. I saw a red BIKE with a very cool flame job and I'm wondering if they can duplicate that on the computer. It was killer and if you don't like it afterall ..YOU haven't Painted the truck.

MY BOLT is a daily driver and not perfect so even if it is not show quality it might be cool to try out.

The bank I work for has had two vehicles wrapped like this, a PT Cruiser and a Chevy Astro van. I just happened to be headed to Philly last year which is where they have this done so I took the van down with me to be wrapped. I was kind of embarassed driving it back, but I did get to see the place where they print the graphics. They had just invested in a new printer that was the size of a cargo van. It was really cool, it looked like a regular desktop HP printer but it was huge! The wraps are really cool, but they do not compare to paint, they seem kind of dull not shiney.

Sticker Dude had a Scion at WFC that was entirely wrappped. Looked ok but you could see seams. I am sure it woul be cheaper than paint.I wonder how hard it is to get off the car?

You can unwrap a small car in about 30 minutes. Depending on where you live, someone else could also unwrap your car in about 30 minutes. It just peels right off.

On TV they did say they were going to clear coat it after it was done. It would help the 8 year vinyl life span out a lot.

Now that would help some of the points made. I think we all agree if $$$ is no object then a custom paint job with wild very colorful art work is great.
The art work is what cost the money in labor..easier to do on the computer.

However keep everything in perspective ...on a $15,000 BOLT (mine) why spend $3,000 - $7,000 for a custom paint job if a (partial) wrap for $800.00 will look 80% as good. Just for consideration, not to dismiss new things out of hand.

Just my opinion.
