How can I do a leak-down test

Now that I've got all my plugs/injectors pulled for inspection and change, I may as well buy me a leak-down tester and quantify this motor. But, I'm not sure how to do it with all the plugs/injectors out. Any tips or suggestions. TIA

to do an accurate leak down test, the engine should be up to operating temperature. You can however do it cold but your results may be lower. Instruction should be included with your kit and a chart as well with different air pressures you can use (80 psi -100 psi).

This is the kit I am using: http://goodvibesracing.com/leakdown_instructions.htm

Unlike a compression test where you want to do it with all plugs pulled at once, a leakdown needs to be done removing one plug at a time and you will still have problems getting motor to not turn over at 100 psi. Moptor must be at or near TDC on compression stroke. Use hose without gage and listen for whistle. A breakover on crank bolt may be necessary to keep motor from spinning.
