Fiberglass on the L?

When Ford developed the Lightning GEN 2 did they use any lightweight materials such as fiberglass or carbon composite on the cab area

Well, I'm pretty sure the hood is aluminum (someone verify?) and I know the bed sides are fiberglass. But the cab isn't made of anything special.

The bed isn't fiberglass. The bed sides are. The box is still steel. The hood is made of aluminum. Other than that it's steel.

I believe all F-150s get an aluminum hood and all flairsides get the fiberglass bedsides.

FYI - The bedsides are not made of fiberglass to save weight, its becuase its easier (cheaper) to make compound curves out of fiberglass rather than metal. Usually, fiberglass parts that are good quality (where longevity and fitment are important) (in other words - not ultra-thin race-glass) are heavier than a comparable steel part. (That is one reason why Corvettes aren't really all that lightweight)
